Jeff G. Hooper is a Florida State Licensed General Contractor and a Florida State Licensed Building Inspector. He has over 40 years of experience in the construction industry at all levels and has been qualified as an expert witness in hundreds of cases involving Construction, Personal Injury, Condemnation, Building Codes, Demolition, Substantial Damage, Substantial Improvement, Eminent Domain, Construction Defect Cases, Building Materials, Personal Injury, Accidental Death, and Building Forensics. Jeff is an International Code Council, (ICC), Certified Standard Building, Mechanical, Gas, and Plumbing Inspector. Jeff has certificates in High Velocity Wind Roofing Applications, Fire Egress for Buildings, ADA, and several other specialty fields.
Jeff joined the Florida Association of Building Inspectors in 1996 and has served as a Board of Director, Vice President and President four times over the years. Jeff was a member from 1996 until 2016. Jeff has taught classes at FAU and other educational institutions in the area of Building Codes and Continuing Education for Architects, Engineers, Contractors and Code Officials/Administrators.
Jeff helped develop the Standards of Practice for Home Inspectors and helped create the Home Inspector Licensing and Mold Assessor Licensing Laws in the State of Florida. As a member of the legislative committee Jeff helped develop the language in these laws and conveyed the information to the Lawmakers for the Bills in the State and the various committees.
Numerous Builders and Developers have utilized his service as a consultant for their projects. Home and Building Owners have also utilized Jeff as a consultant and private inspector to protect their interests.
